Personal experience is the starting point for developing compositions. Each series begins with watercolour sketches on paper. They reflect sensory, emotional, and affective experiences of the nearby Black Forest and Kaiserstuhl as well as of travels to cultures outside Europe. In the studio, the watercolour sketches are worked out in oil on canvases of varying formats.
